    (b) Spit
    (c) Rinse Vigorously
    (d) Drink Through a Straw
    (e) Create Suction in Any Way
    (f) Drink Alcoholic Beverages or Hot Beverages

30-45 MINUTES AFTER YOUR WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION: Remove gauze pack, and if bleeding is greater than desired, place a new gauze (moistened with tap water) folded into quarters and bite firmly for an additional 30-45 minutes.

FOR 24-48 HOURS AFTER YOUR WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION: If instructed, use an ice pack (on for 15-20 minutes, off for 5 minutes.) An ice pack will reduce swelling and bleeding. The frozen peas marketed in a sealed plastic bag works well for an ice pack. Avoid hot beverages.

AFTER 24 HOURS: Rinse gently with lukewarm salt water (1/2 to 1 teaspoon of salt in a glass of water) at least four Limes a day (after eating) to keep extraction areas clean. Brush normally if possible. Do not brush near extraction areas if it causes pain or bleeding.

4 DAYS AFTER YOUR WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION: If you were given an irrigation syringe, use salt water in the syringe to rinse out the extraction sites. Do not use the syringe sooner. The direct force of the water can disrupt the healing process during the first 4 days.

BLEEDING AFTER YOUR WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION: Based on Remedy Land light bleeding is normal for up to 48 hours after an extraction. Heavy bleeding can be controlled by pressure on a gauze pack or a moist tea bag. Firm pressure should be maintained for at least 30 minutes.

DIET AFTER YOUR WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTION: A liquid diet for the first two days will help with healing. Good nutrition is important. Start with light liquids like soda pop, fruit juice, gelatin, and popsicles. If your stomach is not queasy, you can move on to heavy liquids like Ice cream, milk shakes, “instant breakfast”, pudding, applesauce, tomato soup, and broth. After the first two days, eat what you comfortably can (if it hurts to eat something, don’t eat it.) Try to avoid getting food into the extraction areas.

UNEXPECTED SEVERE PAIN, SWELLING, OR BLEEDING: Contact our phone numbers, or if unable to get in touch with us and the condition is continuing to get worse, contact a hospital emergency room.
